Mid November, I had a call from an assistant who was trying to help her boss find solutions. The bosses’ wife, who was an artist, passed away. The husband (“Boss”) sold her studio house and a property next door. He needed help on how to sell or donate many or all of her art supplies and equipment and move some of her favorite pieces to his home. We are working on this project in early December.
Here is the checklist we worked through:
Medical
- All Doctor(s) to include specialists – name, address, phone and e-mail
- Dentist- same as above
- A list of medications prescribed- drug name, milligrams taken and who prescribed it
- List of vitamin supplements and their amounts
- Preference on hospital
Technology
- Cell phone – number, carrier and pass code to get into the phone
- Computer, iPad, laptop and tablet – pass code to get in
- Password book – hard copy of all passwords to all accounts
Location of all documents
- External hard drive (labeled and location)
- Secure cloud based (consider Forever.com)
- Hard copy in a binder or folder (kept in fire proof safe or file cabinet)
*A recommendation: Make copies or use original statements received. Put user name and passwords on the top of the page. This will help you keep track of all the records.
