My team and I worked in a home and when we were finished one day we had cobwebs in our hair, on our clothes and on our shoes. We were covered. Now cobwebs bring spiders. If you let one live in a home that is not vacuumed or swept periodically, or cleaned on a regular basis, cobwebs began to blossom.
If cobwebs develop and grow, dust increases for your loved one to inhale through air conditioning and heat and air ducts that are full of dust. This is not good for the respiratory system. If there is a basement or lower level, go down and have it vacuumed or swept. If there is a garage, sweep it once a month, and include the patio, front door, and back door. It tracks leaves, dust and dirt into the house.
As your loved one matures, pay attention to how they are living. If they are aging in place, keep their home intact with repairs. If your loved one lives out of state, have a friend go check on them and report back the conditions of how they are eating, tidiness of the home and their mental condition.
A great present/gift to give to a loved one who can’t keep up with the cleaning of their home is buy them a maid service, once a week, especially to clean the bathrooms and kitchen area. It can even be every other week.
This will be a gift most appreciated.
