Suggestions on How to Pack Your Bathroom

Sorting is the key issue. Discard ¼ or less products in bottles or jars. Rinse out and put the plastic or glass in the recycling bin.

  • Towels, sheets, washcloths and hand towels can be packed in a plastic tote or box.
  • If you have a cloth shower curtain, wash it on the gentle cycle with the liner, before packing. If the liner is plastic, hang it up on clip type hangers in the garage beams or laundry room to drip dry.
  • Pack all appliances together, if possible, in a small box or tote i.e. hairdryers, electric shavers, curling and flat irons, curlers or any other electrical appliances.
  • Pack liquids in a small box or plastic tote. Empty or discard containers that have less than a fourth of product in the bottle. Put the bottles in the recycling bin.
  • Pack all products standing up, otherwise they will leak. You can put them in plastic storage bags or wrap in newspaper print.
  • All aerosols are not allowed on a moving truck, if going out of state. It can cause an explosion.
  • Any bottles like hand soap or hand sanitizer, that has a turn spout, turn the handle to close it. Or turn the front nozzle to closed.
  • Recycle old and outdated medications. Prescription medications can be recycled at Meijer Grocery in the pharmacy department. Put them in the gray container.
  • Go through all your cosmetics. Old outdated products should be discarded. Old mascara and other old products can cause infection or an allergic reaction.
  • Clean the excess hair out of your hair brushes and wash with liquid soap.
  • Discard old toothbrushes.
  • Label the contents of each box/tote for easy unpacking.
