Organizing Your Jewelry

I am a highly visual person, so if my items are displayed, I will see it and wear it.

Earrings: Depending on how much you have, many stores sell earring holder stands (Claire’s, Hobby Lobby, etc.)

Place all hook style earrings on an earring tree stand. For the earrings you are missing, toss the one you have. Clip earrings can also be placed on an earring tree stand, if not too heavy. Or you can go to the craft store and get a clear plastic container that has small compartments. They are usually in the bead section. It’s perfect for earrings. I put all the same colors in one slot like red, then pink, gold, or silver. This is another way to keep your earrings together.

Necklaces: I like hanging them on the wall in my closet.

If you do not have wall space in the closet, you might consider a jewelry cabinet that you can hang necklaces and drawers that you put bracelets and watches in.

If you prefer your earrings in a drawer or jewelry cabinet, I have a client who uses foam. She cuts smaller pieces and puts a sliver in it, so she can hook and post earrings that can fit on the foam pad. It lays flat in a drawer and the pairs stay together.

Another client uses a peg board system on a wall with hooks, to hang necklaces and belts. Try that, if that works for you. You will need closet wall space to do this.
