After Losing a Loved One – Concierge Services for the Family

Losing a loved one is very emotional. Most people don’t prepare for their death. Heart attack, sudden sickness, car accidents, and so many health issues that we don’t account for. In my previous blog, I discussed monthly about preparing your “Life Document “ folder for emergencies.

The most difficult part of clearing out a home, condo, or apartment of a loved one is the emotional stress. We can smell their scent, walk into their kitchen or bedroom and see their routine. This involves going through all of their items in the home.

Complete Relocation Solutions concierge service takes that emotional stress off the family’s shoulders, whether you are local or out of state. We ask the family to go through the home and take or tag what they want, including going through documents that are needed. If this is not possible, we can do a walk through of the home on FaceTime or Skype. We tag what the family wants and get quotes to have it shipped. We recommend shredding all personal documents that are from 2014 and older. We have done this process frequently. We just look at the dates and organize them in folders by year and then put the folders into a box, organized by year.

We go through all drawers, cabinets, and closets. We separate the items for donating, discarding and selling. Towels, sheets and blankets can go to the Humane Society, if they don’t want to take it.. Canned food that is not expired can go to food pantries.

In most cases, we need to have a dumpster on site to discard trash and mattresses. If the family member had pet and the furniture is full of pet hair, it has to be discarded. Auctioneers or estate liquidators won’t buy furniture due to allergies and un-cleanliness.

We bring in a professional cleaning crew to give a quote, to clean the whole house prior to listing the property. We work along side the real estate agent, so all they have to do is list, market and sell.

Leave it to Complete Relocation Solutions to work alongside you and your family and complete the project in a timely manner.
